In Late August 2018, Osage Casino Hotel-Tulsa made an announcement that the casino has wrapped up the first phrase and stage of it’s initial $160 million renovation.
The news was well received by the public who cherished the effort and amount of work the Casino giant has put into making sure they accomplish the renovation plan.
Anyways, another announcement was made recently, the information passed across was as regard the inception of the second phrase of the renovation. This year is expected to be the start of the much anticipated second phrase of the renovation. The renovation will see another addition of a six-story $28 million tower at the prestigious Oklahoma complex. Also, by 2020 the new hotel is expected to be completed and ready to be launched. Osage Nation, the well known and respected business organization is the owner and operator of the casino which is been situated at 951 W. 36th St. North in Tulsa. The casino celebrated the grand opening of the massive $160 million expansion on the 29th of August 2018 after initially breaking ground in November 2016.
Following the reports of public Radio Tulsa, The Chief Executive Officer for Osage Casinos, a person of Bryson Bighorse, said that each weekend the newly renovated and expanded complex sells out but that the board isn’t realized that there aren’t enough hotel rooms to satisfy the ever-increasing demand. “We have started construction on our second hotel tower. This means we are investing another $28 million into the property. This hotel tower will be identical to the tower constructed last year, except it will contain 145 hotel rooms,”
The recent announcement follows the completion of last year’s major renovation. which was the first ever renovation the casino would go through. The renovation was originally and officially proposed by the Chief Executive Officer to the Osage Nation Congress’ Commerce and Economic Development Committee dating back to 2015.
What does it entail?
Well, the renovation which costed $160 million occurred to the largest Osage Casinos footprint in the world, embedding a 141-room hotel, 247,000 square feet, 66,000 square feet of casino space, swimming pools, sports bar, cafes, banquet rooms, A full service brewery, the skyline Event Center and Nine Band Brewing Co.
The Regional Chamber president of Tulsa and Chief executive officer Mike Neal made it known that the new tower will attract a lot of visitors, who spend nearly $9 billion a year in the state. “Investing in tourism infrastructure is a benefit to us all. It’s a benefit to local communities. It’s a benefit to the tribe,” Neal said, as reported by Public Radio Tulsa.
The investments also put Osage Nation on an equal and balanced playing ground with the mighty Muscogee (Creek) Nation and also the Cherokee Nation with both organizations having a significant and massive presence in the Tulsa. Note that Muscogee (Creek) Nation owning the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa in Catoosa while Cherokee Nation Operating River Spirit Casino Resort at Riverside Pkwy in Tulsa.
Tulsa are reported to be the Oklahoma’s third largest employer. Even though Oklahoma is also the third-largest gaining market in the united states, generating approximately $4.5 billion.
