3rd July 2019 saw the Philippines’ Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone open up its sixth casino. D’Heights Casino, part of the larger D’Heights Resorts and Casino in Clark, Pampanga, saw its soft opening on Wednesday. The new facility boasts some features like 576 Slot machines and gaming tables that amount to 50. The owners project that there will more additions to the gaming tables and they project about 100 more gaming tables. The grand opening of the casino is then expected to be in October.
Other features that the venue will possess include a VIP floor, junket area and D’Height Club, which is a high-limit area. The facility is expected to be the largest among the six. The other five include Fortunegate Clark Casino, Midori Casino, Widus, Casino Filipino Mimosa which is operated by PAGCOR, Philippine’s gambling regulation body, and the fifth one being Royce.
The newly opened facility is part of the larger D’Heights Resorts and Casino and the larger property has had its size spreading across a 309-hectare site and still, the facility is situated 350 meters above sea level in a place the environment is described as ‘cooler, cleaner and fresher.’
Largest integrated resorts
D’Heights Resorts is one of Philippine’s largest integrated resorts and is owned by Dong Huang Clark Corp., which is a company controlled by Lee Shin Kun, an entrepreneur, who oversaw the opening of the casino. The property is expected to open up some of the major amenities in the country.
The company is also expecting to open doors of a five-star, 310-room Hilton Hotel which will comprise of restaurants, bars which will include one that offers Chinese cuisine, UNION Fine Dining and XI. The resort is also expected to launch a Hyatt Regency-branded hotel. The details about the facility, however, are still scanty.
The integrated resort project will also see private residences incorporated and according to Albert Pascual, D’Heights Resort’s Business Development Manager, he says that the Monterey’s Lake property which comprises of five towers/15-storey condominium units has all been sold out.
The project will also feature Monterey Switch, a complex with seven towers of condominium units, with its development underway.
The fun does not stop with the Hotels and Casinos, the Resort will also feature several food and beverage facilities and some entertainment joints. Once the project is completed, some of the features expected will be a man-made lake, an indoor water park and a 360-hole golf course.
Other features that can be expected will include commercial establishments, the visitors will have a number of dining facilities where they will be treated to different kinds of cuisine and the property will also boast of a retail area where duty-free shops will be featured.
The project is valued at $250 million and according to Pascual their ultimate goal is ‘to have a one-stop shop leisure and resorts area.’
Clark has been cited as a long term alternative of Manila by the government and thus, the area has faced rushed development. Dennis Uy, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s friend has also got approval to build a resort in the area.
