Thursday, 1st August 2019, saw Playtech, top online gaming and sports betting software provider, announce a long-term deal with CasinoSolverde.pt, a Portuguese casino operator.
The deal is seen as one that will expand the provider’s presence in the Portuguese regulated gambling market and would further provide a great exposure through one of the popular operators in the country.
Under the terms of the deal, CasinoSalverde’s online gambling operations will be powered by the provider’s IMS player management platform. This will, in turn, see the casino roll out games from the provider and boost further its performance through benefiting from Playtech’s data-driven tools. The online casino is also expected to record a level of profitability through the provision of an enhanced experience to its clientele.
This is not the first deal that CasinoSalverde is making with another deal completed recently with iSoftBet, a gaming developer and supplier. Under the terms of the deal, the casino is to go live with the developer’s gaming titles.
One of the 18 licensed casinos
The casino’s online gaming entry in the Portuguese market dates back in 2017 when Serviços de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos, Portugal’s local regulator, granted them an operational license. Of the 18 licenses offered by the government in the newly regulated gambling market, the casino owns one of them.
2015 saw Portugal reorganize the gambling market and later during the year, the first regulated operations began. The regulated market has since attracted major players that notwithstanding the high tax rates imposed on the sector including an 8% – 16% tax on sports betting turnover.
That, however, has still seen some lobbying from the industry in a bid to see the tax system revised and recently, lawmakers came out to state that they were ‘reconsidering the current regime.’
Playtech’s deal will see the provision of the provider’s casino content to CasinoSalverde. The casino will then go-ahead to personalize the content it will provide to the clients.
Additionally, the operator will integrate the third-party suppliers’ games and to improve the loyalty from the customers, CasinoSalverde will have benefits stemming from the use of real-time engagement tools.
‘among the foremost names in the countries market’
On the latest deal with the casino, Shimon Akad, Playtech’s CEO, stated that CasinoSalverde was among the ‘foremost names’ in the Portuguese local market and he went further to state that he was proud the operator got to power a major player in the country. Commenting on the operator’s objective, the CEO stated that they had continued to ‘serve as the infrastructure of choice in competitive and complex markets.’
On the casino’s part, the Board Director, Manuel Silva Carvalho, welcomed the move expressing his confidence in the provider stirring CasinoSalverde’s growth in the local gaming market.
Playtech has also been on the road with other recent partnerships announced with Spanish operators namely RETAbet and Gauselmann’s Mekur. The provider has also made strides in the new gaming regulated market in Swiss through a partnership with Swiss Casino. The end of last year, also, saw Playtech launch a first regulated online casino in Poland.
